Teacher Workshop Presenter, Virginia Beach
Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth: if you teach anywhere in Hampton Roads and run a well-managed classroom, this could be a good fit.
Teacher workshop presenters lead classroom management workshops for K-12 staffs, in person or by video, with strategies teachers can start using the next day. There is no territory to stay inside, and trainings can be in person or virtual. The Center for Teacher Effectiveness opened in 1993. Over 400,000 educators in all 50 states have trained with us since.
Expect 1099 independent contractor status and no guaranteed hours. Trainers typically make $1,000 or more for a training day, with pay on Fridays.
The bulk of the work comes from your own outreach to schools, done the way certification teaches. Contracts and negotiations are handled by your National Director.
Our Weekend Certification meets online for three days over two weekends, 36 hours total, moving from the content to how you deliver it. Certification is tuition-based, and sponsorship or a pay-over-time plan can help with the cost. You can earn 4 graduate credits through UMass Global with the certification. Every certified trainer gets orientation, training materials, and ongoing support.
Current K-12 educators and retired ones can both apply: teachers, coaches, counselors, principals, and other educators. A bachelor's degree is the preferred background. Applications from students are fine, provided the student plans to complete certification. Most trainers are active educators, and their trainings fall on evenings, weekends, personal days, and summer break.
