Professional Development Trainer

Whether you teach in Kansas City, Missouri, across the state line in Overland Park or Olathe, or out in Independence or Lee's Summit, this role is open to you. Our training has reached more than 400,000 educators since 1993, with teachers in every state among them.

Professional development trainers lead training days on classroom management for K-12 staffs, at the school or online. Because there are no territories, you can work with Kansas City schools in person and with others by video.

Current or former K-12 teachers, principals, counselors, and coaches are a good fit, as are other educators. The preferred education is a bachelor's degree. Most trainers are active teachers and administrators. Evenings, weekends, personal days, and summers are when they train.

Every trainer works as a 1099 independent contractor, and hours are not guaranteed. Training days typically pay $1,000 or more, with payment every Friday. The bulk of the work comes from your own outreach to schools, done the way certification teaches. Your National Director writes the contracts and handles negotiation.

Training starts with our virtual Weekend Certification: 36 hours over three days on two weekends, first Content Mastery and then High-Impact Facilitation. After certification, you'll have orientation, materials, and ongoing support when you need it. The certification does have tuition, and you can get sponsorship or pay over time. Certification also carries eligibility for 4 graduate credits through UMass Global. We accept student applicants who plan to get certified.
