Digital Navigator
Digital Navigator (Part-Time)
About the RoleThis isn't a help-desk job. A Digital Navigator works directly with residents — one-on-one and in small groups — to help them get online, use their devices confidently, and handle everyday tasks like scheduling appointments, applying for benefits, finding work, or managing a bank account. The work is patient, relational, and grounded in where people actually are.
This is a temporary, grant-funded, part-time position set to end on or before December 31, 2026. The role sits within the Digital Equity Department, reporting to the Senior Advisor for Digital Equity.
What you'll do- Welcome residents, listen to their goals and barriers, and put together a simple plan for each person.- Lead 1:1 sessions and small groups (30–60 min) covering phone, tablet, and laptop basics; email; video calls; job searching; online forms; tenant portals; and scam/safety awareness.- Help residents find and connect to affordable internet options and device support available in their building or community.- Coordinate logistics for classes: space, flyers, sign-ups.- Track outcomes in a straightforward way — people served, skills gained, referrals made — while keeping resident information private.- Share brief monthly updates with the housing operator about what's working and what residents still need.- Measure success: number of residents served, skills completed, connections to low-cost internet or devices, resident satisfaction, and partner referrals.- Handle other related duties as they come up.
About you- You can explain tech in plain steps without making people feel embarrassed. Patient and trustworthy.- Comfortable with smartphones and computers; ready to keep learning and pass it on.- You take confidentiality seriously and approach people with trauma-informed, stigma-aware care (including around substance use).- Bilingual or multilingual is a real plus. Lived experience in the community is genuinely valued — not just a box to check.
