Child & Adolescent Therapist / Psychologist
Child & Adolescent Therapist / Psychologist
Licensed Psychologist, LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC Part-Time with Opportunity to Grow to Full-Time | W-2 Position | In Person | San Carlos, CA $80–$95 per 50-minute clinical session
Come Grow With Us
The Neurodevelopmental Collective (NDC) is a growing, multidisciplinary, neurodiversity-affirming practice in San Carlos, and we are looking for a thoughtful and collaborative child and adolescent therapist or psychologist to join our team.
We support children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. Our approach is grounded in understanding the whole person, including their development, nervous system, relationships, communication, executive functioning, environment, strengths, identity, and individual way of experiencing the world.
We are looking for a clinician who shares this perspective, genuinely enjoys working with children and families, and values being part of a team where people bring different areas of expertise and continue learning from one another.
This position is designed to begin part-time and grow toward full-time as your caseload develops.
The Work
We are open to clinicians who particularly enjoy young children, school-age children, adolescents, young adults, or a combination. We hope to build complementary areas of expertise across our team so that children and families can be thoughtfully matched with clinicians who are a great fit.
Depending on your interests and experience, your work may include:
• Individual therapy with children, adolescents, and young adults • Therapy with younger children • Parent consultation and parent-focused intervention • Family-based work • ADHD and executive functioning • Autism and neurodivergent identity development • Anxiety and emotional regulation • School avoidance and school-related distress • Distress tolerance and coping • Autonomy-sensitive and Persistent Drive for Autonomy profiles • Social and relationship challenges • Self-understanding, identity, and self-advocacy • Collaboration with parents and other providers when clinically appropriate
We are especially interested in clinicians with experience or interest in DBT and DBT-C, SPACE, Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS), ACT, CBT, parent coaching, and developmentally appropriate play- and relationship-based approaches.
Work as Part of a Multidisciplinary Team
Collaboration is an important part of how we work at NDC. Our team brings together professionals across psychology, neurodevelopment, education, executive functioning, therapy, and related disciplines.
We hold regular multidisciplinary team meetings where clinicians can consult about cases, share perspectives across disciplines, and learn from one another. We want clinicians to bring their own knowledge and experience while remaining open to new ideas, feedback, training, and continued professional growth.
Depending on role, interests, eligibility, and practice needs, NDC may support continuing education, consultation, professional resources, and specialized clinical training. Additional specialized training may be available in connection with a longer-term commitment to the practice.
Help Shape What We Build
For clinicians who are excited about program development, there is room to help shape the future of therapy services at NDC.
This could include developing groups, parent programs, workshops, DBT-informed programming, interdisciplinary services, clinical resources, or other supports for neurodivergent children and families. As the practice grows, there may also be opportunities for increased program-development and leadership responsibilities.
Flexibility & Support
Therapy for this position is provided in person at our San Carlos clinic, with occasional opportunities for virtual parent intakes, parent consultation, or other support when clinically appropriate.
We offer meaningful scheduling flexibility and will work collaboratively to develop a schedule that supports your desired caseload and professional goals while meeting the needs of the clinic and the families we serve.
We also provide dedicated clinical and administrative support with scheduling, intake and records coordination, billing and practice systems, communication and coordination, documentation support, clinical resources, technology, and other day-to-day practice needs.
Compensation & Benefits
$80–$95 per 50-minute clinical session, based on relevant experience, expertise, specialized training, and responsibilities.
Approved nonclinical responsibilities, including documentation, multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical consultation, required or approved training, and other approved practice responsibilities, are separately compensated.
This is a W-2 employee position.
Depending on employment status, role, eligibility, and applicable plan terms, NDC benefits and professional supports may include:
• Employer-subsidized health insurance for eligible full-time employees, including support for dependent child coverage • 401(k) retirement benefits with an employer contribution/match for eligible employees • Paid time off • Professional liability insurance for eligible clinical services provided through NDC • Professional-development and specialized-training support based on role and eligibility • Wellness benefits for eligible employees • Collective Kids Grant, providing eligible full-time employees with support toward qualifying child-related expenses such as childcare, camps, tutoring, educational resources, and enrichment activities • Paid required and approved training, as applicable
Who We Hope to Find
We are looking for a clinician who:
• Holds a current, active California license as a Psychologist, LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC in good standing • Has meaningful experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, young adults, and/or families • Practices from a genuinely neurodiversity-affirming perspective • Understands children within the context of development, regulation, relationships, communication, environment, strengths, and individual differences • Can thoughtfully adapt therapy to different developmental, cognitive, communication, and regulatory profiles • Values children’s autonomy, dignity, strengths, and authentic identities • Enjoys collaborating with families and other professionals • Values interdisciplinary thinking and teamwork • Is thoughtful, reliable, and able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team • Is committed to continued learning and professional growth • Is interested in beginning part-time with the opportunity to grow toward full-time
