IT Field Engineer Internship - IT Total Care
Location: Foster City, CA
Duration: 10 weeks (Start date 1/11)
Hours: ~24 hours per week. 3 days per week – 8am-4:30pm. Flexibility around which 3 days per week but all 3 days must be between Monday-Thursday.
Compensation: Paid at $18.50 per hour (plus potential to convert to full or part-time employment upon completion)

About the Internship
This internship is designed for those pursuing IT degrees or who are interested in IT who want real-world, hands-on experience in both field and remote technical support. Over 10 weeks, you’ll participate in our structured training program. You’ll gain exposure to the tools, systems, and client interactions that make a modern MSP operate. If selected, interviews for this position will be in person in our office in Foster City, CA during the week of 12/7.
What You’ll Learn & Do
- Learn how to set up and configure computers for client deployments
- Get experience doing proactive checks for clients
- Work with industry tools such as RMM, endpoint protection, cybersecurity awareness training, BCDR, SaaS backup, VoIP, M365, Google Workspace, email security, and password management solutions
- Learn networking fundamentals and server maintenance
- Shadow a mix of onsite and remote support (roughly 50/50)
- Develop troubleshooting skills and learn how MSPs deliver managed IT services
What We’re Looking For
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, certification in Information Technology, or have a high interest in IT
- Basic understanding of networking and Windows troubleshooting. Networking experience is a plus but not required
- Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability
- Eagerness to learn and a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Access to reliable transportation for client site visits
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds
