K-12 Professional Development Trainer, Tennessee

Tennessee teachers, counselors, and principals in Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Clarksville can lead classroom management training for other educators.

K-12 professional development trainers teach classroom management to elementary, middle, and high school staffs. Training days run in person or virtually, and you decide which ones to pursue.

Getting certified means 36 hours in our virtual Weekend Certification, spread over three days and two weekends. The certification is eligible for 4 graduate credits at UMass Global, and it includes orientation, materials, and continued support. Certification has tuition, which you can cover through sponsorship or by paying over time.

This is a 1099 independent contractor role, and there are no guaranteed hours. On a typical training day you'd earn $1,000 or more, and payment comes on Friday. Certification teaches an outreach approach for connecting with schools, and that's where most trainings come from. When a school is ready, your National Director writes up the agreement and works out the terms. You won't be boxed into a territory. Train in Tennessee, travel if you like, or both.

Since most trainers are still teaching or leading schools, trainings tend to fall on evenings, weekends, personal days, or summer break. You'd represent a program that has trained more than 400,000 educators in all 50 states since 1993.

Good candidates include current or former K-12 teachers, principals, counselors, and coaches, along with other educators. Students who intend to get certified are welcome to apply as well.
