School Staff Trainer, Virginia

When a school in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Richmond, Arlington, or Roanoke brings its whole staff together for training, someone has to lead it. That could be you. Our classroom management training has been running since 1993 and has reached over 400,000 educators nationwide.

School staff trainers lead classroom management training for the adults in a building who work with students, teachers first, either in person or online. No one is assigned a territory. You choose where to work: your own district, a neighboring one, or anywhere in the country.

Certification happens online over two weekends, three days and 36 hours total, and it ends with a full day on facilitation. There is tuition for certification, and sponsorship and pay-over-time options are available. The certification qualifies for 4 graduate credits from UMass Global. Orientation and materials come with it, along with ongoing support.

You'd be self-employed for this work, as a 1099 independent contractor, and hours aren't guaranteed. You do the outreach to schools, using what certification teaches, and that's where most trainings come from. Contracts and negotiation go to your National Director. Pay runs every Friday, and a training day typically earns $1,000 or more.

Our trainers are mostly active teachers and administrators who book trainings for evenings, weekends, personal days, and summer.

Current or former K-12 teachers, counselors, principals, and instructional coaches can apply, and so can other educators. Students who intend to get certified are welcome to apply as well.
