Professional Development Trainer, New Jersey

New Jersey packs a lot of school districts into a small state, which makes it a good place to train. If you teach or lead a school in Newark, Jersey City, Paterson, Trenton, or Camden, take a look.

Our professional development trainers teach classroom management to K-12 staffs. You'd lead training days on site or by video, and you'd choose how many to take on. We've trained educators in all 50 states since 1993, more than 400,000 of them so far. You can stay close to home in New Jersey or travel, because there are no territories.

You'd work as an independent contractor on a 1099, with no promised number of hours. Training days typically pay $1,000 or more, and payday is Friday. The outreach approach you learn in certification is how most trainers find their schools. Contracts and negotiation go to your National Director.

You'll begin with the virtual Weekend Certification: 36 hours over three days on two weekends, Content Mastery first and High-Impact Facilitation second. There is tuition for certification, and sponsorship and pay-over-time options are available. Certification is eligible for 4 graduate credits through UMass Global, and orientation, training materials, and ongoing support are part of it.

Since most trainers are still teaching or leading schools, trainings tend to fall on evenings, weekends, personal days, or summer break. We welcome current and former K-12 teachers, principals, counselors, coaches, and other school-based educators. Students can apply as long as they plan to get certified.
