Teacher Workshop Facilitator, Georgia
Georgia teachers in Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta, Macon, and Athens who like running a workshop more than sitting in one may find this facilitation role fits.
Facilitators guide K-12 teachers through a classroom management training day, in person or online. You keep the room involved and make sure each strategy is clear before moving on. Most of our trainers are still working teachers and administrators. They train on personal days, weekends, evenings, and in summer.
Like every trainer we work with, you'd be a 1099 independent contractor, without guaranteed hours. For a typical training day, trainers earn $1,000 or more, and pay comes every Friday.
Your trainings will mostly come from schools you connect with, using the outreach steps from certification. Your National Director drafts the contract and handles the back-and-forth on terms. There's no territory to stay inside. You can train at schools in your area, across Georgia, or in other states.
You'd prepare through the virtual Weekend Certification, 36 hours over three days on two separate weekends. UMass Global offers 4 graduate credits for the certification, and you also get orientation, materials, and support after you're certified. Certification requires tuition. You can look into sponsorship or choose to pay over time.
The Center for Teacher Effectiveness has been doing this since 1993 and has trained more than 400,000 educators, with every state represented. Teachers, coaches, counselors, and principals, current or former, are the people we hope to hear from, along with other K-12 educators. You can apply as a student if you plan to complete certification.
