K-12 Professional Development Trainer, Ohio
In a lot of Ohio schools there's one person colleagues ask about classroom management. If that's you, in Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toledo, Akron, Dayton, or anywhere else in the state, this role is built around that skill. Starting in 1993, we have trained upward of 400,000 educators in all 50 states.
As a K-12 professional development trainer, you'd lead classroom management training days for school staffs at every grade level, elementary through high school, on site or online. Where you train is up to you, since there are no territories: nearby districts, the far side of Ohio, or another state.
Your first step is our virtual Weekend Certification, which takes 36 hours over three days on two weekends. Tuition is part of certification, and both sponsorship and pay-over-time options exist. Certification also qualifies for 4 graduate credits through UMass Global, and orientation, materials, and ongoing support are provided.
You'd work as an independent contractor on a 1099, with no promised number of hours. Most trainings start with schools you contact yourself, using the outreach approach taught in certification. Every contract is written and negotiated by your National Director. Pay is per training day, typically $1,000 or more, and it arrives every Friday.
Most of our trainers still have school jobs. Evenings, weekends, personal days, and summers are when they train.
This is for current or former K-12 educators: teachers, principals, coaches, counselors, and others who have worked in schools. If you're a student, you're welcome to apply when you plan to complete certification.
