Community Participation Specialist (Part-Time)

Gene Cook Supports is seeking a Community Participation Specialist (CPS) to support individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism in developing meaningful community connections, social relationships, life skills, and employment-related experiences. This flexible position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact while helping individuals explore their interests and achieve personal goals.

This position is an excellent opportunity for students or professionals pursuing careers in human services, social work, psychology, rehabilitation, special education, recreation therapy, or related fields.

Responsibilities:
• Support individuals in community-based activities and experiences
• Assist with developing social skills and community connections
• Promote health, wellness, leisure, and recreational opportunities
• Help individuals explore volunteer and employment-related opportunities
• Provide transportation to and from community activities
• Complete service documentation and quarterly reports
• Collaborate with individuals, families, and support teams

Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver's license, registration, and insurance
• Ability to complete required training and certifications
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is preferred
