Professional Development Trainer, Part-Time

This is part-time work that fits around a school calendar. Our trainers deliver classroom management professional development to K-12 staffs, covering teachers at every grade level. Most of them are working teachers and administrators who take trainings on personal days, evenings, weekends, and during summer break, and many keep their full-time jobs.

You decide how many trainings to go after. The role is 1099 independent contracting with no guaranteed hours. Each training day typically pays $1,000 or more, and pay goes out every Friday.

Most of the work starts with schools you reach out to. You'll learn how during certification, and once a school says yes, your National Director writes the contract and negotiates it for you. There are no territories, and training can happen close to home, out of state, or virtually.

Everyone begins with our virtual Weekend Certification, 36 hours over three days on two weekends. You start with the content and finish with a day on facilitation. Tuition applies, and you can cover it through sponsorship or pay over time. The certification is eligible for 4 graduate credits through UMass Global and includes orientation, training materials, and ongoing support.

The Center for Teacher Effectiveness has trained educators since 1993, more than 400,000 of them in all 50 states. We're looking for current and former K-12 teachers, coaches, counselors, principals, and other educators. Students are welcome if they plan to finish certification.
