Professional Development Trainer, Remote
Sessions can run over video, which means you can train from home. Our professional development trainers teach classroom management to K-12 school staffs online or on site, and when a school asks for you in person, whether you go is your choice.
Since 1993, the Center for Teacher Effectiveness has trained over 400,000 educators in every state. This is independent contractor work, reported on a 1099, and there are no guaranteed hours. Nobody is assigned a territory. You can work with schools in your area, across the country, or entirely online.
Bookings usually happen like this. In certification you learn an outreach approach for reaching schools, which is where most trainings come from. Once a school is interested, your National Director takes over the contract and the negotiation. The typical rate is $1,000 or more per training day, paid every Friday.
The certification itself is our virtual Weekend Certification: 36 hours across three days and two weekends, with the content followed by facilitation. It carries tuition, and there are sponsorship and pay-over-time options. It's eligible for 4 graduate credits through UMass Global, and orientation, training materials, and ongoing support come included.
Our trainers are mostly active teachers and administrators who train around their school schedules, on evenings, weekends, personal days, and summers. The role fits current and former K-12 teachers, coaches, counselors, principals, and other educators, as well as students who intend to complete certification.
