K-12 Professional Development Trainer
The Center for Teacher Effectiveness trains K-12 teachers in classroom management, and we're adding professional development trainers to our national team. Since 1993 we have trained more than 400,000 educators in all 50 states. Our trainers lead in-service sessions for school staffs, in person or virtually, using our research-based classroom management program.
Most of our trainers are working teachers and administrators. They train on evenings, weekends, and personal days, and over the summer, and many keep their regular jobs. There are no territories. You can train in your own district, in the districts around you, or anywhere in the country.
This is a 1099 independent contractor role with no guaranteed hours. How often you train is up to you and the schools you work with. Trainers typically earn $1,000 or more per training day and are paid every Friday. Most trainings come from schools you connect with, using the outreach approach we teach, and your National Director writes the contract and handles the negotiation.
Every trainer starts with our virtual Weekend Certification, which is 36 hours over three days spread across two weekends. The first weekend covers the content, and the second covers facilitation. Certification has tuition, and sponsorship and pay-over-time options are available. It is eligible for 4 graduate credits through UMass Global, and orientation, training materials, and ongoing support come with it.
The role is for current and former K-12 teachers, instructional coaches, counselors, principals, and other educators. If you're still a student, you're welcome to apply as long as you plan to complete certification.
