Kennel Attendant

**Kennel Attendant — Bark University Inc**Mundelein, IL | Part-Time | On-Site | 20 hrs/week

Bark University Inc is a dog daycare and boarding facility that also offers grooming, baths, and training. We're looking for a Kennel Attendant who genuinely loves dogs and isn't afraid of some hard work to keep them safe, clean, and happy.

**What you'll do**

- Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, and common spaces throughout the day — dogs are messy, and that's just the reality- Monitor dogs during daycare and boarding for health, behavior, and safety- Feed and provide fresh water to dogs according to their individual schedules- Assist with baths and grooming prep as needed- Help with basic training reinforcement and handling- Communicate with dog owners about their pet's day, needs, or any concerns- Keep an eye out for signs of illness, stress, or injury and report to the team lead

**About you**

- Comfortable around dogs of all sizes and temperaments — this is non-negotiable- Detail-oriented; you notice when something's off- Physical stamina for a job that keeps you moving: lifting, bending, standing, and yes, lots of cleaning- Reliable and punctual — dogs don't care if you're running late- Team player who can communicate clearly with coworkers and pet owners

**Nice to have**

- Prior experience in a kennel, veterinary clinic, pet store, or similar setting- Knowledge of dog behavior and body language- Pet first aid or CPT certification
