Senior Robotics & Coding Instructor (Part-Time) — West & Southwest Houston

# Senior Robotics & Coding Instructor (Part-Time) — West & Southwest Houston

LearnToBot teaches hands-on robotics and coding classes for kids ages 6–15 across the Houston area. Students build with real electronics — sensors, motors, RC cars, robotic arms — write real code, and take everything they build home. We are hiring experienced college-student instructors to LEAD our west and southwest Houston classes.

## Where you will work — read this first

Our classes run in Katy, Cypress, Sugar Land, Spring/The Woodlands, and Houston. **You must live on the west or southwest side of Houston and be available in those areas.** Our immediate opening is Thursday afternoons at Westbury Christian School in southwest Houston, plus other weekday-afternoon classes nearby.

Equipment is stored at Extra Space Storage, 3800 Highway 6 S, Houston. As the senior instructor, you own the equipment run: pick up class kits from storage before class and return them after. **A reliable car and a valid driver's license are required for this job.**

## The job

1. Lead weekly project-based robotics and coding classes for kids ages 6–15 using our curriculum (you build every project yourself before you teach it).
2. Pick up, transport, and return class equipment between storage and the class location. Driving between storage and class is paid time.
3. Direct the assistant instructor in your class — setup, student help, teardown.
4. Confirm your shifts in our app, arrive early, and complete a short class report after each class.

## Pay and mileage

- **$18–$25/hour**, depending on experience and the projects you can teach independently.
- Mileage: your normal commute is on you. Driving beyond the first 25 miles each way is reimbursed at **$0.76/mile**.
- Part-time during the school year; full-time hours available during school holidays and camps.

## Who this fits

- Current college student or recent graduate (University of Houston students encouraged) in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or another STEM field.
- You can already build and troubleshoot basic electronics/code projects — Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, or Python experience expected at this level. We train you on our curriculum and projects.
- Experience teaching or working with kids (classes, tutoring, camps, coaching) strongly preferred — you will be the lead adult in the room.
- Motivated, reliable, comfortable with technology. Must pass a background check (required by our school partners).

## How to apply

In your application, include:
1. The area/neighborhood where you live.
2. Whether you have a reliable car.
3. Your weekly availability, especially weekday afternoons and Thursdays.

Applications without these three answers will not be considered.
