Trade Compliance Intern

What Is Trade Compliance?

Companies around the world are required to consider national security, foreign policy, and tariff considerations before they engage in cross-border transactions. Different countries have different requirements, and these country-by-country requirements layer on top of each other within each business transaction in complex ways. The country from which a company is exporting may have different requirements than the country into which the company is importing, for example, and the country where the company is headquartered may add yet another set of requirements.

Understanding which requirements apply to a company’s transactions, and ensuring that the company complies with those requirements, is generally the role of the company’s trade compliance team. Amalie Trade Compliance Consulting supports corporate teams conducting this work.
