Teacher Assistant / Substitute Teacher Opportunity
Golden Horizon Academy (GHA), a private K–8 school serving students on the autism spectrum, is seeking a responsible, patient, and dedicated Teacher Assistant to join our team.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist teachers with daily classroom instruction and activities.
- Substitute for teachers as needed, following classroom lesson plans and schedules.
- Supervise students during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal.
- Help ensure student safety and maintain a structured, positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to support students' individual needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working with children preferred.
- Experience in special education, autism, or ABA is a plus.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and classroom management skills.
- Dependable, patient, flexible, and responsible.
Schedule and Compensation
- Employment Period: Immediate opening through June 3, 2027 (10-month school-year position)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–3:30 PM
- Hourly Pay: $17.50
- Pay Frequency: Biweekly
- Overtime: Not scheduled

- After One Year of Employment: Eligible for paid time off, paid sick days, and an hourly pay increase, effective the following school year.
- After Three Years of Employment: Eligible for paid school breaks, with additional paid breaks offered based on years of service.
