The Utah Department of Health and Human Services Tobacco Prevention and Control Program (TPCP) is seeking two interns to support efforts to prevent youth nicotine dependence and reduce tobacco-related health disparities across Utah.

This paid, six-month internship offers hands-on experience in state-level public health. Interns will contribute to projects based on program priorities, individual interests, and team needs while gaining experience working with public health professionals and community partners.

Interns may have opportunities to contribute to projects in the following areas:

Data and Analytics: Explore public health trends, conduct research, develop reports for local health partners, and support reporting tools for tobacco cessation services.

Media and Communications: Help develop educational materials and support tobacco prevention media campaigns aimed at youth.

Policy and Research: Research public health policies, review evidence, and support strategies to prevent commercial tobacco use and exposure.

Projects will vary based on program needs and may involve research, data analysis, writing, reporting, and developing visual materials.

Gain practical experience in public health while contributing to efforts to protect Utah communities from the harms of commercial tobacco. This internship offers opportunities to explore different areas of public health, strengthen professional skills, and contribute to meaningful projects.
