Part-Time Social Media Content Creator

Part-Time Social Media Content Creator
EAST Collective + Tenn Little Birds
East Nashville, TN | Part-time | Hybrid
10–15 hours/week | $20–$28/hour, depending on experience

About the Role

We're looking for a creative, self-directed person who knows how to turn real moments into compelling social content.

At EAST Collective and Tenn Little Birds, there's always something happening: actors studying Meisner technique, families making music, kids creating art, theatre classes, camps, workshops, performances, and artists building new programs.

We need someone who can walk into that environment, recognize a great moment, capture it, and turn it into a Reel, Story, or post that makes people want to be part of it.

Short-form video creation is the heart of this role. We're also looking for someone who can help keep our social channels active, engage with our community, and support marketing that brings people through our doors.

What You'll Do

Shoot and edit short-form vertical video for Instagram Reels, Stories, and potentially TikTok

Capture authentic photos and behind-the-scenes moments during classes, rehearsals, and events

Write engaging captions and independently create, schedule, and publish social content

Help respond to comments and routine messages, with guidance from our team

Maintain a manageable weekly content calendar across both businesses

Promote upcoming programs, events, registration deadlines, and enrollment opportunities

Occasionally assist with email campaigns (Constant Contact) and routine website updates

We're interested in content that builds genuine community and helps people discover our programs—not just content that collects likes.

What We're Looking For

A strong instinct for short-form storytelling, especially Reels and TikTok-style video

Confidence shooting and editing with a phone or other accessible equipment

Natural writing skills and a good sense of voice

Initiative, organization, and the ability to work independently

Comfort working in active spaces with artists, educators, children, and families

An interest in arts, music, theatre, education, or creative communities

Experience with Canva, CapCut, Adobe, Meta Business Suite, or similar tools is helpful. Formal marketing credentials are not required.

Students, recent graduates, independent creators, and artists with digital storytelling skills are all encouraged to apply.

Your portfolio and creative instincts matter more to us than your résumé.

Schedule & Location

Some editing, planning, and scheduling can happen remotely, but you'll need to spend time at our spaces on Woodland Street in East Nashville to capture content.

Hours are flexible around our programming schedule, including occasional afternoons, evenings, or weekends.

About Us

EAST Collective is a multidisciplinary arts and community space offering actor training, creative classes, workshops, performances, and programming for children and adults.

Tenn Little Birds is our neighboring early-childhood music community and a Licensed Music Together® Center serving Nashville families.

Together, we're building a creative ecosystem where artists, educators, children, and families can make things together.

Please apply through Handshake with:

Personal projects, student work, freelance content, and videos made for your own social accounts are welcome. Please tell us what you personally contributed—filming, editing, concept, or all three.

Links to additional work or a portfolio are welcome, too.

No formal cover letter required. We'd rather see what you make and hear from you like a human being.
