Junior Data Engineer

A junior data engineer who can build and test data pipelines that combine data from multiple organizations into one reliable source. You’ll work under a senior data architect, meeting weekly, from December 2026 through July 2027. Remote, about 20-25 hours per week

What you’ll deliver

  1. Data source inventory, sample data library, and documentation templates
  2. Mapping tables for non-standard terms, units, and names
  3. Extract, transform, and load (ETL) pipelines and versioned data extracts
  4. Automated data-quality checks
  5. A read-only application programming interface (API) and onboarding session
  6. Data dictionary, ETL documentation, and final system handover

Requirements

  • Enrolled in, or recently finished, a degree in data science, computer science, or a related field
  • Python and Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Familiarity with Git and databases
  • Careful documentation habits
