Position Description:
The English as a Second Language Department at City College of San Francisco serves over 20,000 enrollments annually, making it one of the largest ESL programs in the California community college system. The department offers instruction at three campus locations in addition to a fully online program. Our curriculum spans absolute beginner/literacy level through advanced composition. ESL faculty serve students from a wide range of language, educational, and cultural backgrounds - most of whom are immigrants, refugees, and multilingual adults balancing coursework with employment and family responsibilities. The department is committed to removing barriers to language access and academic advancement, and views equitable outcomes for historically underserved and linguistically minoritized students as central to its mission.
