Resident Service Coordinator
Resident Service Coordinator
Part-Time | Approximately 16 Hours/Week | Afternoons
Schedule: Monday–Friday afternoons, approximately 2:30–6:00 p.m.
Location: Creedmoor, TX
Make Afternoons Matter.
We're looking for a warm, energetic, and creative Resident Service Coordinator to bring after-school programming to life at an affordable housing community.
This is a great role for someone who loves working with kids, enjoys being active, and wants to build real relationships with the families they serve.
Your afternoons will be filled with homework help, games, crafts, exercise, enrichment activities, community events, and plenty of opportunities to get creative. You'll see many of the same kids and families each week, giving you the chance to build trust, encourage them, and watch them grow.
You'll also be a helpful resource for adult residents who need assistance connecting with rent assistance, benefits, and other community resources.
If you're the person kids naturally gravitate toward—and you love coming up with things they'll actually want to participate in—we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
Lead After-School Programming
You will be the familiar, welcoming face kids see when they get home from school.
You'll:
- Provide homework help and academic enrichment.
- Plan activities based on the interests and needs of the kids in your program.
- Lead games, tournaments, arts and crafts, STEM activities, movement and exercise, and other enrichment activities.
- Create a positive environment where kids feel welcome, encouraged, and excited to participate.
- Build relationships with children and families and become a trusted part of the community.
You won't be handed a rigid script and told to follow it. We provide guidance and ideas, but you'll have room to bring your own personality and creativity to the program.
Make It Fun
Great youth programming isn't just about keeping kids busy. It's about creating experiences they look forward to.
You might organize:
- Movie afternoons
- Kickball and outdoor games
- Art and craft projects
- Game tournaments
- STEM challenges
- Reading and homework clubs
- Exercise and movement activities
- Seasonal celebrations
- Team-building activities
- Special events and community socials
The goal is simple: create a place where kids want to be.
Support Adult Residents
Although your primary focus will be children and families, you'll also provide basic resource navigation for adult residents.
You may help residents:
- Find rental and emergency assistance.
- Connect with SNAP, WIC, Social Security, and other benefits.
- Locate local food, healthcare, and community resources.
- Understand where to go when they need additional help.
You don't need to know every benefit program when you start. We'll provide training and support.
Help Build Community
You'll also help create opportunities for the entire community to come together.
You'll:
- Help plan and host monthly community events.
- Support activities such as socials, health fairs, financial education workshops, and community safety events.
- Connect local organizations and service providers with residents.
- Help create an environment where neighbors know one another and feel connected to their community.
Keep Things Organized
You'll take care of the behind-the-scenes details that keep great programming running smoothly.
This includes:
- Maintaining attendance and program records.
- Keeping track of supplies.
- Managing your site's program and event budget.
- Purchasing supplies when needed.
- Maintaining receipts and basic documentation.
- Communicating with your team about what's happening at your community.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
Great with kids.
You know how to connect with children, set appropriate boundaries, encourage positive behavior, and make them feel valued.
Energetic.
You're comfortable getting off the sidelines and participating. If the kids are playing kickball, you're willing to kick the ball.
Creative.
You enjoy coming up with activities and finding ways to make learning and community-building fun.
Patient.
You understand that kids don't always have their best day—and you're able to respond with consistency, encouragement, and good judgment.
Reliable.
Families and children will come to expect you to be there. You take that responsibility seriously.
Organized.
You can balance programming, resident questions, supplies, schedules, and documentation.
A people person.
You enjoy talking with children, parents, grandparents, and other residents and can build relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds.
You'll Need
- Ability to work approximately 16-18 hours per week during weekday afternoons.
- Ability to work some special events or occasional extended hours as needed.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work independently while staying connected with your team.
- Reliable transportation if travel between locations is required for your assigned position.
Experience That Will Help You Succeed
Experience in any of these areas is a plus, but not required:
- Youth programming
- Tutoring
- Childcare
- Education
- Recreation
- Camp programming
- After-school programs
- Community outreach
- Social services
- Event planning
We'll train the right person.
We're more interested in someone who is dependable, positive, creative, and genuinely enjoys working with kids than someone who simply has the longest resume.
Why You'll Love This Job
You'll Know the Kids Know Your Name
This isn't a job where you work with a different group of children every day. You'll see the same kids and families regularly and have the opportunity to build genuine relationships.
You Get to Be Creative
Have an idea for a great activity? Try it. You'll have the freedom to adapt your programming to the kids you're actually working with.
You Can Make a Real Difference
For some children, your program may be the place they go after school to get help with homework, spend time with friends, try something new, or simply have a safe and positive place to be.
It's Part-Time—But It Matters
Approximately 16 hours a week can have a surprisingly big impact when you're consistently showing up for the same community.
You'll Have Support
You won't be figuring everything out alone. Your Resident Service Coordinator Team Lead will provide guidance, ideas, training, and support as you learn the role.
The Bottom Line
If you're looking for a part-time job where you can work with kids, get creative, build relationships, and make a difference in your community, this could be a great fit.
Bring your energy. Bring your ideas. We'll help you build the rest.
