Key Responsibilities

• Lead instruction and individual education plans (IEPs) in a structured 6:3 classroom model alongside 2 dedicated paraprofessionals.
• Implement structured learning environments using TEACCH principles and visual schedules to build student independence.
• Collaborate with an on-site BCBA and multidisciplinary therapy team (SLP, OT, PT) to embed behavioral and therapeutic goals into daily academic routines.
• Utilize trauma-informed strategies to support emotional safety, dysregulation, and behavioral stabilization.
• Maintain clear data collection and evaluation in cooperation with home district partners.

Qualifications & Requirements

• License/Certification: Currently-valid teaching license/certificate issued by the Ohio State Board of Education (SBOE) or the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) for Intervention Specialist (K-12).
• ESSA Standards: Must meet teacher standards as defined in the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
• Background Check: Ability to successfully pass a BCI & FBI criminal background check prior to employment (cost to applicant is $47.25).
• Drug Screening: Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test (district covers cost).
• References: Provide 2 positive reference checks.
• Transcripts & Verification: Official transcripts required upon hire for salary step determination (authorized years of teaching/military experience and graduate-level coursework).
