DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on providing therapeutic cosmetology services that support patient wellbeing. Work directly contributes to health, comfort, and confidence during their long-term care experience. 

As a Cosmetologist 1, you will perform the following duties: 

• Patient Assessment: Evaluate each person’s hair, head, and scalp; report conditions that require medical and hygienic monitoring
• Beauty Services: Provide haircuts, permanent waives, relaxers, coloring, facials, manicures, and scalp, hair, and other treatments
• Shop Operations: Ensure Beauty Shop work follows all state rules, regulations, and standards for licensing and sanitation, and all facility policies and procedures
• Appointment Records: Answer the phone, communicate messages, and keep daily records of all services provided
• Care Collaboration: Work with nurses and other employees to support consistent patient care and maintain a sympathetic attitude toward all patients

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • May change based on operational needs.

• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,506.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Necessary Special Requirements:

• You must be in possession of a license as a Cosmetologist as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Cosmetology.
