Location: Cleveland, OH
Position Type: Full-Time, Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Pay: Based on experience

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and engaging Elementary School Teacher for a combined 4th and 5th Grade classroom in Cleveland, Ohio, for the 2026–2027 school year.

This opportunity is ideal for an educator who can help students strengthen their academic skills, develop independence, and prepare for the transition to middle school. The classroom currently has a relatively small class size of approximately 12 students, allowing for individualized attention and differentiated instruction.

Responsibilities


  • Plan and deliver standards-aligned lessons for 4th and 5th Grade students.


  • Teach core subjects, including reading, writing, English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.


  • Differentiate instruction to address the needs of students across both grade levels.


  • Promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning.


  • Maintain a positive classroom environment with effective classroom management.


  • Track student progress and provide feedback to support academic achievement.


Schedule & Classroom Details


  • Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.


  • Approximately 12 students in the classroom.


  • Dedicated 30-minute lunch break and 30-minute planning period.


  • Mandatory professional development days, typically 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.


Qualifications


  • Valid Ohio teaching license or applicable substitute teaching license, or the ability to renew an existing license, as appropriate for the position.


  • Previous elementary classroom teaching experience preferred.


  • Knowledge of Ohio Learning Standards for elementary education preferred.


  • Experience teaching multiple subjects across grades K–5 is a plus.
