Location: Cleveland, OH
Position Type: Full-Time, Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Pay: Based on experience

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Elementary School Teacher for a combined Kindergarten and 1st Grade classroom in Cleveland, Ohio, for the 2026–2027 school year.

This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who enjoys working with young learners and creating a supportive, engaging classroom environment. The classroom currently has a relatively small class size of approximately 12 students, allowing for individualized instruction and meaningful student engagement.

Responsibilities


  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons for Kindergarten and 1st Grade students.


  • Teach core subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies.


  • Differentiate instruction to meet students’ individual learning needs.


  • Establish positive classroom routines and maintain effective classroom management.


  • Monitor student progress and communicate with families and school staff as appropriate.


  • Align instruction with Ohio Learning Standards and applicable curriculum requirements.


Schedule & Classroom Details


  • Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.


  • Approximately 12 students in the classroom.


  • Dedicated 30-minute lunch break and 30-minute planning period.


  • Mandatory professional development days, typically 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.


Qualifications


  • Valid Ohio teaching license or applicable substitute teaching license, or the ability to renew an existing license, as appropriate for the position.


  • Previous elementary classroom teaching experience preferred.


  • Knowledge of Ohio Learning Standards for elementary education preferred.


  • Experience teaching multiple subjects across grades K–5 is a plus.
