Compassionate Voice Counseling & Consulting, PLLC

Greensboro, NC | Fully Remote in North Carolina or Hybrid W-2 Employment

Part-Time to Start, Building Toward Full-Time Estimated Annual Clinical Earnings: $35,000–$84,000+, depending on licensure and established caseload.

About Our Practice

Compassionate Voice Counseling is a growing, wholehearted, secular, anti-oppressive, trauma-trained, and neurodivergent-affirming group practice hiring two therapists. We're looking for clinicians who value clinical excellence, authenticity, accountability, healthy boundaries, and collaboration. We especially welcome BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, disabled, older, and chronically ill applicants.

The Two Positions

1. Fully Licensed Trauma Therapist: EMDR Strongly Preferred

We're seeking an experienced LCSW or LCMHC, preferably an LCSW, with specialized training in trauma treatment. EMDR is strongly preferred, although we'll consider clinicians trained in Brainspotting or other established trauma treatment approaches.

This clinician will also serve as an occasional backup clinical resource when the Clinical Director is away, providing consultation around urgent clinical concerns. Supervision or leadership experience is preferred. Specific responsibilities and compensation will be discussed during hiring, with coaching provided to help build your caseload.

2. Specialty Mental Health Therapist

We're interested in clinicians specializing in:

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I).
  • Adult ADHD and autism, including affirming therapy, executive functioning, and assessments within professional scope.
  • Neurodivergent couples therapy, including autistic, ADHD, and mixed-neurotype relationships.
  • Chronic illness and disability-affirming therapy, particularly familiarity with EDS, hypermobility, POTS, dysautonomia, MCAS, medical trauma, and their intersection with neurodivergence.
  • Hormonal and reproductive mental health, including perimenopause, menopause, PMDD, and mental health support related to HRT, including gender-affirming hormone therapy.

An aligned clinical niche is required. Independently licensed clinicians are preferred, but we'll consider LCSWA and LCMHCA candidates with relevant training or a clear specialty development plan. Supervision is included for LCSWA employees. Coaching is provided to help build your caseload.

What We Expect

We expect clinicians to provide quality, culturally responsive care, maintain timely documentation (within one week), communicate professionally, manage their schedules, and participate in online clinical staffing and consultation.

We're a paperless practice, so strong technological proficiency is required. You'll need to be comfortable with EHR systems, telehealth, and digital communication. We'll train you on our systems, but not on basic technology skills.

Caseload development is a shared responsibility. We invest in marketing, referrals, and intake support, while clinicians participate in networking, referral follow-up, and maintaining their caseloads. Building a caseload is typically a 3–5 month process for clinicians starting in private practice.

Caseload, Compensation & Benefits Caseload Expectations

  • Part-time: 15–20 completed sessions weekly, with the goal of reaching this level within 3–5 months.
  • Full-time: 20–25 completed sessions weekly, generally around 30 total work hours to qualify for health insurance under plan requirements.
  • We don't require more than 25 scheduled appointments per week. Clinicians may voluntarily schedule up to 30.

Estimated Annual Clinical Earnings

Fully Licensed Clinicians (LCSW / LCMHC)

  • Part-time: $54,000–$72,000 annually
  • Full-time: $72,000–$84,000+ annually

Associate-Level Clinicians (LCSWA / LCMHCA)

  • Part-time: $35,000–$48,000 annually
  • Full-time: $48,000–$70,000+ annually

Clinicians typically earn $69–$83 per completed 60-minute session, depending on licensure and insurance reimbursement. We're selective about the reimbursement rates we accept and transparent about compensation.

Estimates assume approximately 46 working weeks at an established caseload.

  • W-2 employment
  • $20–$30/hour for eligible required meetings, administrative work, and training, typically 1–4 hours weekly.
  • Quality BCBS health benefits for qualifying full-time employees after a three-month averaging period, subject to plan requirements.
