Duty Support - Temporary for the 2026-2027 School Year

Temporary Lunch Duty Support  (When school is in session M-F 11:20 AM - 12:50 PM)

Location: James John K-5 School 

Portland, Oregon, United States Work Model: Onsite Employment Type: Part-Time Hours: 7.5 hours per week

The Temporary Duty Support position provides student supervision and safety support during non-instructional periods of the school day. This role supports smooth school operations by assisting with student arrival and dismissal, monitoring recess and lunch activities, and reinforcing positive behavior expectations.

What you'll do: - Respond to minor conflicts or disruptions, providing redirection as necessary, and reporting more serious incidents. Understand and maintain district guidelines regarding safety and confidentiality. Maintain a confidential non-judgmental manner towards the students, staff and programs. Maintaining open communication with educators, nutrition services staff, and school administration regarding student behavior and any concerns. Employ good judgment in a variety of situations, including emergencies and when responding to student and/or safety concerns. Observe students for any potential issues like conflicts, injuries, or distress, and provide appropriate support or report concerns to relevant staff. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, supervisor, staff, and families. May administer first aid

This is a temporary position with hours scheduled around school lunch periods.
