Pay: $45–$115/hour, based on experience, subject area, and session type 
Type: Part-time to full-time, independent contractor (1099)
Location: In-person sessions across the Houston area [+ online, if applicable]

About Houston Tutorial Association
Founded in Houston in 2001, Houston Tutorial Association (HTA) provides academic tutoring, study skills coaching, and test preparation for students from Kindergarten through college. Our mission is to help students become independent, confident learners, in school and beyond. Many of our students attend rigorous schools or are transitioning to a new school or to college.

What you'll do

• Tutor students one-on-one or in small groups across a variety of subjects, tailoring each session to the student's needs
• Prepare students for the ISEE, SAT, PSAT, and ACT
• Use HTA's study skills strategies in every session to build organization, resourcefulness, and independence
• Communicate regularly and professionally with families about progress

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher (current college juniors and seniors will be considered)
• Prior teaching or private tutoring experience
• Excellent academic record and deep command of the subjects you'll teach
• Minimum 6-month commitment
• Reliable transportation and willingness to drive to sessions around Houston
• Ability to pass a background check
