Pinkston Fellowship
The Pinkston Fellowship Program
Bellarmine College Preparatory is a Catholic, Jesuit, all-boys high school located in San Jose, California, the heart of Silicon Valley. Our 1650 students and 200 staff members work together not only to provide an outstanding education, but also to provide rich co-curricular activities including athletics and clubs for our students.
In 2020, the Pinkston Fellowship was established in honor of Mr. Steve Pinkston's 40 years of service to the Bellarmine community and dedication to students. The intention is to promote racial and cultural diversity in the field of education. It is Bellarmine's hope that the Pinkston Fellowship will inspire and encourage people of color to devote their lives to the profession of education in Catholic Jesuit Schools.
A Pinkston Fellow can:
- Teach classes that are aligned with his/her background and qualifications
- Collaborate on curriculum, instruction, and assessments with faculty who teach the same classes
- Partner with a trained mentor who provides individualized support throughout the year
- Empower and mentor students through one of Bellarmine's many co-curricular programs such as the Academic Resource Center, Affinity Clubs, Athletics, Robotics, Speech and Debate, Theater, or Retreats
- Be supported through professional development opportunities such as workshops and conferences
- Work in partnership with other areas of the school such as counseling, business office, technology, health, human resources, development, or alumni relations
The Pinkston Fellow will be a member of Bellarmine's community for one year, with the possibility of a second-year renewal. The compensation package will include a stipend, health insurance, professional development, moving expenses, and housing, depending on availability. At the program's end, Fellows are encouraged to apply for open positions at Bellarmine.
