Position Overview

Addiction Health Center is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and dependable Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) to join our outpatient treatment team.

The ideal candidate is passionate about helping individuals overcome barriers to recovery through lived experience, peer mentorship, advocacy, and connection to community resources.

As a CPRS, you will work collaboratively with licensed counselors and clinical leadership to provide nonclinical recovery support, promote client engagement, and help individuals build the skills and support systems necessary for long-term recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Provide individualized peer recovery support to clients receiving outpatient substance use disorder treatment.

Share lived recovery experiences appropriately to promote hope, motivation, and positive change.

Assist clients in identifying recovery goals, strengths, barriers, and community resources.

Connect clients with recovery housing, employment opportunities, transportation resources, mutual-help meetings, and other recovery supports.

Support client engagement, retention, and successful transitions between levels of care.

Assist with recovery-oriented activities, peer support groups, and community outreach within the CPRS scope of practice.

Collaborate with counselors, case managers, and other treatment team members to coordinate recovery support services.

Maintain timely, accurate, and professional documentation in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.

Promote healthy boundaries, ethical practices, confidentiality, and person-centered recovery services.

Build relationships with community recovery organizations and referral partners.

Qualifications

Required:

Current Minnesota Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) credential.

Personal lived experience in substance use disorder recovery.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Reliable, compassionate, and committed to supporting diverse individuals in recovery.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred:

Experience working in an outpatient SUD treatment setting.

Familiarity with Minnesota recovery resources, recovery residences, and Housing Support (GRH).

Knowledge of harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and recovery-oriented systems of care.

Experience with electronic health record documentation.

Compensation & Work Environment

$23.00 per hour
