Earn, Learn, and Build Your Resume
Earn hourly base pay plus $200 for each qualified activation while supporting the SpaceX Starlink Customer Acquisition Program and building resume-ready experience in field sales, customer acquisition, territory management, and business development. This flexible role is designed to fit around class schedules.
As a Starlink Campus Sales Representative, you will own an assigned field territory, connect households in rural and suburban communities with information about Starlink internet service, identify prospective customers, and build local awareness and referrals. This is a distinctive opportunity for motivated individuals who want meaningful responsibility, measurable goals, and experience beyond a typical campus job.
SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.
Why You’ll Love This Role
- Hourly base pay plus performance-based activation commissions
- Flexible scheduling around classes
- Paid training, territory guidance, tools, and ongoing coaching
- Mileage reimbursement, a monthly cell phone stipend, and Starlink uniform
- Resume-building sales experience—no prior sales experience required
Earning Example
Completing 10 qualified activations in one month would provide $2,000 in commission, in addition to hourly base pay, with current sales representatives averaging up to 5 activations a shift. A qualified activation is paid after the customer’s first monthly service payment is confirmed, generally after 31 days. Earnings are not guaranteed and vary by hours worked, performance, territory opportunity, and qualified activations.
What You Will Do
- Own an assigned territory and use broadband coverage data and territory tools to identify communities, plan routes, manage time, and track progress toward sales goals.
- Engage prospective customers through direct door-to-door selling, a core part of the role, as well as community and campus events, referrals, local partnerships, and other approved approaches suited to the territory.
- Learn about each household’s current internet experience, including customers with existing internet options, explain Starlink’s current service and hardware offerings, answer general questions, and help customers determine whether Starlink may meet their needs.
- Guide interested customers to place their own orders using your Starlink-issued referral code. You will not collect payments or sensitive customer information.
- Record hours, mileage, customer interactions, sales activity, and qualified activations in the field application; join regular manager check-ins to review results and strengthen your approach.
You’ll Be a Great Fit If You…
Enjoy meeting people, take ownership of your results, and are ready to learn. You should also:
- Be enrolled in an eligible college, university, or educational program.
- Be available 15 to 25 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends.
- Be coachable, self-motivated, comfortable meeting new people, and resilient when facing rejection.
- Work independently, manage your schedule, stay connected with the sales team, and follow through on commitments.
- Be willing to conduct direct neighborhood and community outreach and travel throughout rural and suburban areas in your territory.
- Have a valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and smartphone.
- Be at least 18 and authorized to work in the United States.
Prior sales experience is not required. Experience in customer service, fundraising, athletics, student organizations, campus leadership, hospitality, retail, promotions, or community service is helpful.
Skills you’ll build: Consultative selling, customer acquisition, lead generation, territory planning, community engagement, relationship building, objection handling, time management, goal setting, and performance tracking—with ongoing coaching from field sales leaders.
