Meals On Wheels Program Assistant
About the Role:
As a valued member of Wilder’s Meals on Wheels team, you will help ensure older adults and other community members receive nutritious meals safely and reliably. You will provide day-to-day operational support for the storage, packing, and delivery of hot and frozen meals while coordinating and supporting program volunteers. You will oversee volunteer scheduling and develop monthly calendars, prepare daily routes and materials for volunteer drivers, and deliver meals to clients’ homes when volunteers are unavailable. You will also help ensure food safety practices and special dietary requirements are followed while providing responsive, respectful customer service to clients by phone and in person.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. You must also have a personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license. Experience working with older adults and families from diverse backgrounds is preferred, as is experience working with and overseeing volunteers.
