About us
Women's Empire, Inc. is a New York City-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2016 with a mission to expand access to capital for women and girls across all five boroughs. We're in the final stretch of launching our first signature product, the Women's Empire Affirmation Deck, a premium 52-card empowerment tool designed for ambitious Black and brown women building their lives, their income, and their impact.
About the role
You'll join at the production phase and work directly with our Volunteer Lead and Founder & CEO, along with our designer and print vendor, to get the deck made and delivered. You'll partner closely with our Launch & Marketing Intern.
What you'll do
- Packaging & Proofs: Review packaging proofs and samples, including box layout and sizing, with our designer and the Volunteer Lead. Track revisions, drive decisions to final approval, and confirm final card and box files match the vendor's specifications.
- Vendor & Production Oversight: Serve as day-to-day contact with our print vendor and oversee production from file submission through proof review, approval, print run, shipping, and delivery. Build and maintain the production timeline with vendor-confirmed dates, and flag risks to the Volunteer Lead early.
- Planning & Launch Readiness: Finalize the planning binder with the Launch & Marketing Intern, and review the production and shipping steps in the launch day checklist so they match the confirmed timeline.
- Finalize the wholesale and gifting pitch one-pager in Canva for corporate buyers, boutiques, and organizational partners
- Keep Canva files organized and exported at the correct print specs.
- Deliver a handoff document with design file locations, outstanding items, vendor contacts, and recommended next steps for the Founder.
Minimum requirements
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Business, Operations, Project Management, Product Design, Nonprofit Management, or a related field
- Strong written communication, including professional follow-up with outside partners
- Highly organized, able to track deadlines, files, and approvals without daily supervision
- Comfortable with Canva, spreadsheets, and Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
- Genuine interest in women's empowerment, community impact, or social entrepreneurship
Preferred skills
- Experience with print production, packaging, or vendor communication
- Prior experience coordinating a project, product, or event timeline
- Attention to detail in specifications, dates, and files
- Comfort in a founder-led, fast-moving environment where priorities may shift
What you'll gain
- Portfolio-ready deliverables from an active product launch: a production timeline, production plan, and finished planning binder
- Direct experience taking a product from final production through delivery
- Acknowledgment in the Women's Empire Affirmation Deck
- $300 stipend, a complimentary deck, and a formal letter of recommendation
