AI-First Digital Marketing Intern
About Pyxl
Pyxl is a digital services and AI solutions company that helps brands drive revenue growth and operational efficiency through strategy, design, marketing, technology, and applied AI. For more than 18 years, Pyxl has partnered with organizations on work spanning digital brand identity, creative and UX design, web development and engineering, AI-driven marketing, generative AI consulting, automation, and AI visibility.
Today, Pyxl is increasingly focused on helping clients integrate AI into the way they market, operate, and build digital experiences.
Role Overview
Pyxl is looking for an AI-First Marketing Intern who already uses AI as a core part of how they research, strategize, create, automate, analyze, and optimize marketing.
This is not a traditional marketing internship with occasional ChatGPT use added on top.
We are looking for an emerging AI-native marketer / marketing technologist who understands how tools like ChatGPT, Claude, AI agents, automation platforms, analytics tools, and marketing systems can work together to produce better marketing outcomes.
The strongest candidate will be interested in using AI across the full marketing process — from research and audience insights through content, paid media, SEO/AEO, CRM, automation, reporting, and optimization.
This person should be excited by questions like:
- How can AI help us market this more intelligently?
- What parts of this workflow can be automated or improved?
- How can we connect research, content, data, and execution into a smarter system?
- How can AI help us get better results instead of simply producing more content?
What You’ll Do
- Support marketing strategy and execution across Pyxl client accounts and internal initiatives.
- Use AI to conduct audience, competitor, market, keyword, customer, and industry research.
- Turn AI-assisted research into useful marketing insights, positioning, messaging, campaign ideas, and recommendations.
- Support social media strategy, content planning, captions, Reels/Stories concepts, scheduling, platform research, and performance analysis.
- Create and refine marketing copy across social, paid media, email, websites, landing pages, blogs, and campaigns.
- Support SEO, AEO, GEO, and AI-search initiatives through keyword research, FAQ development, content optimization, competitive research, and visibility analysis.
- Support paid media across channels such as Meta and Google through research, audience development, creative testing, reporting, performance analysis, and optimization support.
- Use AI to analyze campaign and marketing performance data and identify trends, insights, and recommended actions.
- Support CRM, lifecycle, email, and customer-journey marketing.
- Explore AI agents and agentic workflows that can support marketing, sales, research, customer service, reporting, and content operations.
- Help build repeatable AI-enabled marketing workflows rather than completing every task manually.
- Explore automation opportunities across research, content production, lead generation, reporting, CRM, and campaign execution.
- Use AI to help personalize marketing content, messaging, and outreach where appropriate.
- Test emerging AI and MarTech tools and recommend useful applications for Pyxl or client work.
- Help document AI workflows so successful processes can be repeated, improved, and scaled.
- Collaborate with marketing, strategy, design, development, and client teams.
What “AI-First” Means at Pyxl
Being AI-first does not mean simply using ChatGPT to write captions, blog posts, or brainstorm ideas.
We are looking for someone who thinks about AI as part of the marketing operating system.
A strong AI-first marketing workflow might look like:
Research → Insights → Strategy → Campaign Development → Content & Creative → Execution → Automation → Measurement → Optimization
An AI-first marketer should be able to:
- Choose the right AI tool for the problem.
- Use AI for research and analysis, not only content generation.
- Build multi-step workflows.
- Understand how AI can connect to marketing systems and data.
- Use agents or automation where appropriate.
- Evaluate AI output critically.
- Fact-check and QA generated work.
- Maintain brand voice and strategic consistency.
- Recognize when human judgment should lead.
- Measure whether AI actually improves the marketing outcome.
- Turn successful processes into repeatable workflows.
AI should help make marketing smarter, faster, more scalable, and more effective — not simply generate more output.
Required Qualifications
- Strong foundational understanding of marketing, communications, advertising, business, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience using generative AI as part of a real marketing workflow.

- Strong written communication and copywriting ability.
- Ability to research, synthesize information, and turn findings into useful marketing recommendations.
- Comfortable working across multiple marketing channels.
- Interest in AI agents, automation, marketing technology, analytics, and emerging AI capabilities.
- Ability to explain how AI contributed to a project or workflow.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to review AI-generated work critically.
