Product Engineer, Frontend
GTC is a Boulder company founded in 2022 by members of the team that built and sold Frustum to PTC, and is backed by Parkway Venture Capital. Its first product, Talius, is collaborative software for early-stage site planning: teams evaluate parcels, constraints, layouts, parking and access together, then export plans as PDF, DXF or SVG. As Product Engineer, Frontend, you will own the interface where parcel data, constraints and generated site plans become something people can read, compare and edit.
What you’ll build
- The map workspace: Google Maps with parcel overlays, and the interactive 2D plan canvas rendered in SVG.
- Collaboration UX on our real-time event layer, so edits from several people stay fast and predictable.
- Interfaces for constraints and project state.
- How plans leave the product: PDF, DXF and SVG exports, and measured results such as parking, area and green space.
- A Vue 3, TypeScript and Quasar codebase with clear state management, practical tests and components others can build on.
Why it’s hard
One site plan carries parcel geometry, setbacks, parking layouts and edits from several people at once. The interface has to stay responsive on a map and canvas full of vector data, and it has to make a dense technical result clear to brokers, developers and planners.
What you need to be good at
- Experience building complex, data-rich web applications as a frontend or product engineer.
- Strong production Vue 3 and TypeScript.
- Hands-on work with maps or technical visualization, such as Google Maps, Mapbox GL, OpenLayers, SVG or Canvas.
- Comfort with real-time data flows (WebSockets or Socket.IO) and with API design conversations.
- You take loose product direction, propose an interaction model and technical approach, and ship it without waiting for a complete spec.
- You use AI coding tools thoughtfully, check what they produce and own the code you ship.
Helpful, not required: Quasar; GIS, civil engineering, architecture, real estate or design-tool experience; async Python; SSO (OAuth / OpenID) and permissions.
