As an Employment and Career Specialist II, you'll help clients identify their employment goals, build job readiness skills, navigate workforce resources, and connect with meaningful employment opportunities. You'll work directly with clients while building relationships with employers and community partners to create pathways toward greater income, stability, and independence.

The employment and Career Specialist II role may support a broad range of clients or have a specialized focus on adults age 55 and older, depending on program needs.

- Provide individualized employment services, including assessments, career exploration, job search, resume development, interview preparation, and application support.
- Develop employment plans and help clients address barriers through coaching, resource navigation, and referrals.
- Develop and facilitate job readiness workshops and employment-related activities.
- Build relationships with employers and identify opportunities that align with client skills, experience, and goals.
- Conduct job development, employer outreach, networking, and community engagement activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams, workforce partners, and community organizations to support employment goals.
- Support clients after placement to promote employment retention and continued success.
- Maintain accurate documentation and track client, employer, and employment outcomes.
- Associate degree in Human Services, Social Services, Workforce Development, Vocational Rehabilitation, Business, Education, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency sufficient to provide employment services, facilitate workshops, and communicate with clients, employers, and community partners (Required)
- Minimum of three years of experience in employment services, job development, workforce development, career coaching, job placement, vocational services, or a related field.
- Experience supporting individuals who face barriers to employment.
- Valid California Driver's License.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation, manage an active caseload, and work effectively with clients, employers, and community partners.
- Experience providing employment services to people experiencing homelessness or housing instability, individuals with disabilities, or adults age 55 and older.
- Experience developing employer relationships, conducting job development, and connecting candidates with employment opportunities.
- Experience facilitating job readiness workshops or other workforce development activities.

Your work will extend beyond the office as you build relationships with clients, employers, and community partners to create meaningful pathways to employment.
Compensation and BenefitsPay for this position is based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The anticipated starting pay range is:
$26.18 – $30.10 per hour

This is a full-time position. The role works across office, program, community, and employer settings and includes regular local travel for client services, employer outreach, hiring events, and workforce activities.
