Event Host
Role Overview
We are looking for a high-energy, charismatic Live On-Air Personality & Event Host to serve as our boots-on-the-ground face at live concerts and festivals. This role is all about pure human connection: microphone-in-hand, walking through the crowd, talking to everyone, capturing the authentic pulse of the event. We don't need you to edit video, code, or manage complex software—we just need your personality. If you have a knack for finding the fun in any situation, can get anyone to laugh, and know how to blend "zany and weird" with a strong sense of brand professionalism, this is your stage. Knowledge and passion for the jam band scene is a huge plus.
Core Responsibilities
Boots-on-the-Ground Hosting: Take the microphone straight into the action, moving through crowds, festival grounds, and backstages to talk to fans, artists, and colorful festival characters.
Marathon Live Coverage: Host up to 2-3 hours of live, unscripted coverage before, during, and after major concerts and music festivals.
On-Camera Interviewing: Conduct spontaneous, engaging interviews that put people at ease, helping fans and guests relax, laugh, and open up on camera.
Format Experimentation: Bring a creative willingness to try original, weird, and fun interview formats, interactive games, and live bits in real time.
Real-Time Energy: Infuse every moment with infectious enthusiasm and humor, creating memorable, unscripted entertainment right as events unfold.
Brand Ambassadorship: Balance a zany, bold, and playful personality with an underlying professional awareness that you are representing our media brand at all times.
What We’re Looking For
Unstoppable On-Screen Energy: Naturally dynamic, confident, and magnetic with a microphone in hand.
People Skills: An innate ability to read a room, break the ice instantly, and make anyone feel comfortable sharing their story.
Quick Wit & Adaptability: Able to improvise continuously on live broadcasts without a script or safety net.
Stamina: High energy to power through up to 5 hours of live, active event hosting on your feet.
Brand Awareness: Knows the line between being delightfully weird/fun and keeping things professional for our audience and sponsors.
No Tech Required: Video, audio, and social media production are handled by our technical crew—your sole focus is bringing your personality to life on camera. Having prior knowledge of editing software and social media is a plus!
Must have access to an Iphone 8 or similar phone technology.
What does success look like?
First, if your viewership feedback shows strong analytics, we will call on you early and often. In addition, new compensation opportunities (above hourly pay) will emerge especially if you connect well with the fans.
