We are seeking an advanced Senior GIS Analyst to join a public-sector transportation infrastructure team. This role focuses on advanced spatial analysis, enterprise asset data management, web application development, and cross-functional technical liaison duties between IT divisions and operations teams.

 

The ideal candidate will design, build, and maintain enterprise spatial solutions using modern Esri technologies, supporting critical asset management workflows and decision-making systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Application Development: Design, build, test, and deploy robust web mapping applications using the ArcGIS API for JavaScript and modern web application frameworks.
  • Spatial Data Management & Analysis: Analyze, validate, and maintain spatial datasets tied to large-scale enterprise infrastructure and maintenance assets; perform complex multi-layered spatial queries and cartographic modeling.
  • Enterprise GIS Administration & Tooling: Leverage ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal, Server, Data Stores, Web Adaptors) and ArcSDE to publish services, manage geodatabases, and automate routine data management workflows via Python scripting.
  • Technical Collaboration: Serve as a technical bridge between core IT infrastructure teams, asset management system administrators, and non-technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into spatial solutions.
  • Linear Referencing Systems (LRS): Support and maintain linear referencing systems, route networks, and event data layers to ensure asset spatial integrity.

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • GIS Experience: 4–8 years of professional experience in GIS analysis and GIS application development.
  • Web Development: Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience designing, building, and delivering interactive web applications, specifically utilizing ArcGIS API for JavaScript or equivalent web mapping APIs.
  • Esri Stack Proficiency: High competence with the Esri software suite, including ArcGIS Pro 3.x+, ArcSDE, and ArcGIS Enterprise architectures (Server, Portal, Web Adaptor, Data Stores).
  • Scripting & Automation: Strong programming proficiency in Python for geoprocessing automation and ETL pipelines.
  • Communication & Delivery: Proven ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users, both written and verbally; ability to manage projects independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with relational databases and data extraction tools, specifically Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL.
  • Hands-on experience with Linear Referencing Systems (LRS) and Esri Roads & Highways (or comparable roadway asset frameworks).
  • Background integrating GIS with enterprise asset management systems (EAMS).
  • Experience developing executive dashboards and business intelligence reporting using Power BI.

 

Working Conditions

  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid schedule requiring 3 to 4 days per week on-site at the local facility.
  • Travel: Occasional in-state travel may be required based on project needs.

Required / Desired Skills

  • Experience in GIS and GIS application development. Required - 6 Years
  • Experience in ESRI GIS Software Suite (ArcGIS Pro 3.x and higher) Required - 5 Years
  • Must have the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical computer users, both orally and in writing. Required - 5 Years
  • Prior experience with LRS and working knowledge and experience with ESRI Roads & Highways or other similar systems is a plus Required - 1 Years
  • Develop and maintain linear referencing systems (LRS) and GIS applications to support spatial data management needs. Required - 1 Years
  • Experience and demonstrated proficiency in data extraction, analysis, and scripting tools, preferably Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL. Required - 1 Years
  • Experience developing web applications using ArcGIS API for JavaScript or other JavaScript mapping APIs Required - 1 Years
  • Experience in Reporting Tools such as Power BI is strongly desired. Required - 1 Years
