Website Redesign & SEO Intern

Paid | Temporary / Project-Based | Remote

Compensation: $700–$1,000 project budget, depending on experience and scope
Estimated Timeline: 4–6 weeks
Platform: Squarespace

About Us

Resident Pet Care Services is a specialized pet-care company serving seniors in assisted living communities and private families.

Our work goes beyond caring for pets. We support seniors' quality of life, independence, and emotional well-being through reliable, compassionate pet care.

Our website needs to reflect that. We want families navigating an unfamiliar and often emotional situation to feel understood, reassured, and confident in our services.

About the Opportunity

We're looking for a motivated college student interested in UX, web development, and SEO to help redesign and improve our existing Squarespace website.

This is a hands-on opportunity to work directly with company leadership, develop practical skills, and build a meaningful portfolio project with real business impact.

We're not looking for flashy design. We value clarity, functionality, accessibility, intuitive navigation, and thoughtful customer experience.

You don't need to be an expert in everything. We're looking for someone curious, resourceful, detail-oriented, and capable of explaining the reasoning behind their work.

What You'll Do

Website Audit: Evaluate our existing website for usability, content organization, accessibility, and search visibility.

UX & Information Architecture: Improve navigation, page structure, and the customer journey, particularly for seniors and their families.

Content & Conversion: Organize information to address customer questions, build trust, and encourage inquiries.

Squarespace Development: Redesign and implement improvements across desktop and mobile.

SEO & GEO: Apply foundational search optimization practices, including keyword research, metadata, headings, internal linking, local SEO, and search-friendly content structure.

Testing & Launch: Test usability, resolve issues, and recommend future improvements.

Who We're Looking For

Ideally, you're studying or interested in UX/UI, HCI, web development, digital marketing, or a related field.

We value:

Foundational experience with website design or development (Squarespace preferred)

Interest in SEO, accessibility, and customer conversion

Empathy for users and an understanding of how design influences trust

Strong research, problem-solving, and communication skills

Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and take ownership of a project

What You'll Gain

A real-world website redesign to feature in your portfolio

Direct collaboration and mentorship from company leadership

Experience applying UX, SEO, and conversion principles to a growing service business

Ownership of a project from initial audit through launch

How to Apply

Please submit:

A brief introduction and relevant experience

Examples of websites or UX/SEO projects you've worked on (class projects welcome)

A short explanation of how you would approach improving an existing website's usability, search visibility, and customer conversion

Your estimated timeline and general availability for collaboration and check ins

We care more about your thinking, initiative, and ability to solve problems than an extensive professional portfolio.
