Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)

Fort Hays Tech | Northwest (FHNW) — Goodland, Kansas

Fort Hays Tech | Northwest is seeking a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) to provide accessible, student-centered mental health counseling and crisis support. 

This position plays an important role in promoting mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and connections to community resources across the FHNW service area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual counseling, mental health assessments, crisis intervention, and referrals for students.
  • Coordinate mental health resources and referral services with campus and community partners.
  • Lead mental health awareness and literacy initiatives and support and facilitate Mental Health First Aid programming.
  • Develop and implement community outreach initiatives focused on mental health, suicide prevention, and crisis resources.
  • Maintain confidential records, program/performance data, referral documentation, and required reports.
  • Collaborate with FHNW leadership, Goodland Regional Medical Center, and community agencies.
  • Support compliance with applicable grant requirements, including SAMHSA reporting, and ongoing program evaluation.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in counseling.
  • Current Kansas LCPC license, or equivalent.
  • Clinical experience in crisis intervention and referral coordination; higher-education or school-based experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, data-management, and community partnership skills.
  • Proficiency with computer software and applications as well as data-tracking systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Position Details

This position is currently funded for three years through grant funding. FHNW intends to pursue additional funding with the goal of continuing the position beyond the grant period; however, continuation is not guaranteed.  This is an on-site, full-time position with an expected schedule of 40 hours per week with an annual salary of $70,000. The role includes KPERS retirement and fringe benefits. Travel is expected to be minimal and primarily local.  Mileage will be reimbursed at the college’s standard rate. No overnight travel is anticipated.
