littleborough is looking for a Lead Pre-K Teacher to join our team! We are seeking a creative, caring, and dependable educator who is excited to take the lead in a classroom, build meaningful relationships with children and families, and create a warm and engaging learning environment.
As a Lead Pre-K Teacher, you will play an important role in planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum while supporting the growth, learning, and social-emotional development of each child.
What You'll Do
- Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Pre-K classroom while maintaining a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment.
- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences.
- Collaborate with the Director and teaching team to develop curriculum and classroom activities.
- Support and mentor Assistant Teachers and work collaboratively as a classroom team.
- Observe and document children's development, milestones, interests, and progress in accordance with EEC requirements.
- Communicate regularly and positively with children, families, and staff.
- Create a balanced daily schedule that includes indoor and outdoor activities, quiet and active experiences, and opportunities to develop fine and gross motor, social-emotional, and cognitive skills.
- Follow children's interests and use them to help guide classroom experiences.
- Model positive, developmentally appropriate social behaviors and expectations.
- Maintain compliance with Massachusetts EEC regulations and littleborough policies and procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Must meet Massachusetts EEC Lead Teacher–Preschool qualifications.
- Previous experience working as a teacher in a Pre-K or preschool classroom.
- A passion for early childhood education and creating meaningful learning experiences for young children.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Reliable, dependable, and comfortable working as part of a team.
- A positive, creative, and flexible approach to working with children.
- Ability to work within our hours of operation, 7:00 AM-6:00 PM, based on program needs.
