Sales Engineer - Identity & Access Management

Location: Greenbelt, MD

Untethered Labs, Inc., the creators of GateKeeper (gkaccess.com), is looking for an Application/Sales Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for someone with a solid IT background who enjoys problem-solving, system integration, and engaging with customers to deliver tailored solutions. You'll play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our technical team and sales team, ensuring that our clients get the best possible solutions to meet their needs.

What You’ll Do:

  • Learn and master the GateKeeper Enterprise solution, including its components like the GateKeeper Hub admin console, GateKeeper Halberd key fobs, Trident mobile app, and USB proximity sensors.
  • Assist the Sales Team by providing technical expertise during pre-sales discussions, product demonstrations, and addressing customer inquiries.
  • Engage with customers to understand their IT infrastructure and recommend the best integration strategies for GateKeeper.
  • Support clients with integrating GateKeeper into various environments, including Active Directory (AD), SCCM, Group Policy Objects (GPO), 2FA/MFA systems, and LDAP.
  • Provide guidance on software deployment using methods like Group Policy deployment, GateKeeper Deploy tool, and scheduling installations via the GateKeeper Hub.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to proximity authentication, password management, and network integration.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, FAQs, and knowledge base articles to support both the sales process and end-user education.
  • Participate in post-sales support, assisting with implementation, integration, and customer training to ensure successful deployment.
  • Stay updated with the latest tools, technologies, and compliance standards such as HIPAA, CJIS, GDPR, and DFARS/NIST 800-171.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (minimum requirement). A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in IT, systems administration, or a related technical field.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory (AD), SCCM, Group Policy (GPO), 2FA/MFA solutions, and LDAP.
  • Experience with software deployment, remote desktop (RDP), and systems integration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex IT environments.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and assist the sales team.
  • Passion for learning new technologies and the ability to quickly grasp the technical details of our GateKeeper solution.
  • Familiarity with network security, identity access management (IAM), or similar fields is a plus.
  • Experience with Windows environments, remote desktop management (RDP), and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).
  • Previous customer-facing experience is a plus but not required.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Understanding of Azure AD and cloud-based identity management.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell or Python scripting for automation.
  • Experience with VPNs, remote authentication protocols, and API integrations.
  • Familiarity with IT compliance standards like HIPAA, GDPR, DFARS, and CJIS.
