Job Objective: The position provides high quality care for infants and toddlers during worship service and special events.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise and provide structured care for children 0-4 years old during church worship hours & special events; care includes, but is not limited to, changing children’s diapers and feeding children
  • Engage children in activities including, but not limited to, coloring, games, and singing
  • Maintain nursery toys & equipment in clean & sanitary condition
  • Collect and record pertinent child information as directed
  • Report accidents or injuries to supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or the equivalent preferred; Current students will be considered; must be at 18 years of age.

 

Experience: Experience providing structured care to infants and toddlers is required

 

Certifications/Licenses:  None

 

Skills/Abilities: 

  • Ability to communication effectively with children, caretakers and other stakeholders
  • Ability to plan and facilitate structured, meaningful activities
  • Ability to think creatively
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Must be kind, compassionate, empathetic and intuitive

 

Supervisory Responsibility:  None

  

Physical Requirements:  Include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling and twisting; grabbing, pushing, pulling up to 25lbs. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.

Driving: None

        

Working Conditions: Work is performed in a typical day care/nursery setting.
