Assistant Instructor – After-School Sewing Club (Part-Time)

Bcat Threads is seeking a friendly and reliable individual to support after-school sewing classes for elementary students in 3rd–5th grade. This role is ideal for education students looking to build experience in child development, classroom support, and creative enrichment.

Responsibilities
• Assist the lead instructor in teaching hand sewing and machine sewing projects.
• Help students one-on-one with sewing skills and troubleshooting.
• Supervise students and support classroom management.
• Assist with setup, cleanup, and organizing supplies.
• Model patience, encouragement, and teamwork.

Qualifications
• Interest in working with children.
• Willingness to learn sewing techniques; training provided.
• Positive, flexible, and dependable.
• Prior experience with kids is a plus.

Hours & Pay
• 1–2 afternoons per week, approximately 1.5 hours per shift, including setup and cleanup.
• $35 per hour.
• In-person at San Diego-area schools.
