About the RoleA Lead Teacher takes ownership of a classroom, driving student learning and development every day. This isn't a support role — you'll plan, teach, assess, and adapt curriculum with real autonomy. Whether you're managing a room of kindergarteners or guiding older students through challenging material, your work directly shapes how kids grow.
What you'll do- Plan and deliver daily lessons across core subjects, adjusting for different learning styles and paces- Manage classroom behavior and culture so students feel safe and ready to learn- Track student progress through observation, assessments, and regular communication with families- Collaborate with co-teachers, aides, and specialists to support students with varying needs- Maintain records, reports, and any documentation required by the school or licensing body- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and parent conferences
About you- Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field- State teaching license or certification (or actively working toward one)- Experience managing a classroom independently — student teaching counts- Strong communication skills with kids, parents, and colleagues- Comfortable adapting on the fly when a lesson isn't landing
Nice to have- Experience with specific curricula (e.g., Creative Curriculum, HighScope, Common Core)- Bilingual or multilingual skills- CPR/First Aid certification
