Part Time Youth Worship Leader

PART-TIME YOUTH WORSHIP LEADER

Grace Youth – Medina Campus

POSITION PURPOSE

To advance Grace Church’s mission of developing all people into fully devoted followers of Christ by leading Christ-centered worship for Grace Youth and recruiting, equipping, and developing students to use their gifts in worship ministry.

The Part-Time Youth Worship Leader provides leadership for worship at the Medina Campus while building and developing a team of student musicians and vocalists. This person will work closely with the Grace Youth team to create engaging, Christ-centered worship environments and help students grow as musicians, worshipers, and leaders.

GRACE YOUTH WORSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead worship for Grace Youth at the Medina Campus, primarily during the Sunday night 6:00 PM service.
  • Lead and prepare the Youth Worship Team for rehearsals and services.
  • Partner with the Grace Youth team to plan worship that supports the biblical teaching, direction, and goals of each service.
  • Prepare personally and musically throughout the week, including learning songs, preparing arrangements, and communicating necessary information to the worship team.
  • Recruit and onboard student musicians and vocalists to build a healthy and sustainable worship team.
  • Coach and develop students both musically and spiritually, helping them grow in their understanding of worship, preparation, teamwork, and leadership.
  • Identify students with leadership potential and provide opportunities for them to take increasing ownership and responsibility within the worship ministry.
  • Develop a worship team culture marked by preparation, excellence, humility, teamwork, and a desire to point students toward Jesus.
  • Communicate consistently with students, parents, and ministry leaders regarding schedules, rehearsals, services, and other relevant ministry information.
  • Participate in Grace Youth meetings, events, and ministry initiatives as appropriate within the scope of the position and available hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrates a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with the beliefs, mission, and ministry philosophy of Grace Church.
  • Able to confidently lead worship vocally and/or through a primary instrument, preferably acoustic guitar.
  • Possesses the musical ability necessary to prepare songs, lead rehearsals, and provide direction to a student worship team.
  • Able to effectively lead, coach, and relate to middle and high school students and young adults.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, organization, preparation, and follow-through.
  • Able to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers while also preparing and working independently.
  • Previous worship-leading, band, or student ministry experience is preferred.

TIME COMMITMENT

This is a part-time position of approximately 10–12 hours per week. Regular availability on Sunday afternoons and evenings, including the 6:00 PM Grace Youth service at the Medina Campus, is an essential part of the position. The specific weekly schedule for planning meetings, rehearsal times, and other in-office responsibilities will be established with the supervisor based on ministry needs and the individual’s availability.

Because this is a part-time position, responsibilities and ministry commitments will be prioritized in partnership with the supervisor to ensure expectations remain appropriate for the scheduled hours. The position is intended to provide meaningful ministry experience, leadership development, and opportunities to serve while allowing flexibility for other employment, education, or personal responsibilities.
