Global Market Intern

HELP TAKE LIFE-SAVING TECHNOLOGY

TO WHERE IT'S NEEDED MOST

NYU GLOBAL MARKET DEVELOPMENT & COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

Humanity Lifeline (HL) | Remote | 1–2 Days/Week | 6–8 Months

Help us find where Humanity Lifeline can save lives — and open the doors to get us there.

Humanity Lifeline (HL) is seeking an ambitious, internationally minded NYU student to help identify and develop new opportunities across the United States and around the world.

HL develops resilient communication technology for disasters and other life-safety applications, including first responders, emergency services, business continuity, nurse-call systems, healthcare, public safety and humanitarian operations.

We are a technology startup developing a state-of-the-art disaster communication system designed to keep people and critical organizations connected when conventional infrastructure—including cellular networks, Internet, and electrical power—may be unavailable.

YOUR MISSION

Research earthquake- and disaster-prone regions in the U.S. and worldwide — but go beyond identifying countries. Identify specific opportunities within them: where HL can solve a real problem, which organizations have the need, who makes the decisions, who could fund or support the project, and how we can reach them.

FIND THE NEED →  FIND THE OPPORTUNITY  →  FIND THE DECISION-MAKER  →  FIND THE FUNDING  →  MAKE THE CONNECTION

  • U.S. and international funds, foundations and funding organizations
  • NGOs and prominent humanitarian organizations
  • U.S. federal, state and local agencies and officials; foreign governments and municipalities
  • Embassies, consulates, disaster-management agencies and first responders
  • Hospitals, healthcare systems, emergency services and public-safety organizations
  • Technology, integration and distribution partners, business continuity systems

ENTREPRENEURIAL — NOT JUST MARKETING

This is a hands-on global market research, communications and business-development role. We want someone who can discover opportunities, find the right people, communicate effectively, build relationships and help move an opportunity forward.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

An NYU student interested in Global Affairs, International Marketing, Communications, Business, Media, International Relations, Entrepreneurship or a related field. Excellent written, verbal and person-to-person communication skills are important. Initiative, resourcefulness and an ability to communicate across cultures are essential. Multicultural experience and additional languages are a strong plus.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Remote, 1–2 days per week, for approximately 6–8 months. For the right person, this internship could grow into a more involved role and potentially a longer-term or permanent position with Humanity Lifeline.

WHERE CAN HUMANITY LIFELINE MAKE THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE — AND HOW DO WE GET THERE?
