The New York Charter Schools Association is looking for friendly, reliable college students and recent graduates to join the event team for New York's largest charter school conference, taking place October 21–23 at the Westin Times Square in Midtown Manhattan.
Charter school alumni are especially encouraged to apply. If you attended a charter school and are now in college - or recently graduated - we'd love to have you be part of an event serving New York's charter school community.
This is a paid, short-term opportunity that's perfect for students interested in events, hospitality, education, nonprofit work, communications, or simply gaining professional experience in a fast-paced environment. No previous event experience is required. Training is provided on site.
What you'll do
- Welcome and check in conference attendees
- Staff registration, information, and session desks
- Assist with setting up and breaking down event spaces
- Help attendees find their way around the conference
- Pitch in and help solve problems as they arise
- Work alongside the conference team to help create a great experience for attendees
Schedule & commitment
The conference runs October 21–23 at the Westin Times Square in Midtown Manhattan. Morning, afternoon, and evening shifts are available. You can work one day or all three, and priority will be given to applicants who can work shifts of four hours or more.

College and high-school students, recent graduates, and others who are reliable, friendly, professional, and comfortable being on their feet and helping people. Charter school alumni are strongly encouraged to apply.
First event job? That's completely fine—we'll train you.
